TOREX SEMICONDUCTOR LTD. (Tokyo Japan: President, Tomoyuki Fujisaka) has developed three small amplifier LNA (low-noise amplifier) products for GPS that are based on a CMOS process and have an ON/OFF function.

The XC2406, XC2407, and XC2408 are 1.6GHz LNAs for GPS with an ON/OFF function.  
Three products with gains of 18dB (XC2406), 15dB (XC2407), and 22dB (XC2408) are available to match the application, and all have a low NF (0.96dB TYP.). The operating voltage range is 1.71V to 3.63V, and standard power voltages of 3.45V, 3.00V, 2.85V, and 1.80V are available. A CMOS process is used to reduce power consumption to a low 11.88mW (XC2406), 7.02mW (XC2407), and 12.6mW (XC2408) when VDD=1.80V and a bias resistance is used.  
An ON/OFF control pin has been added to enable direct ON/OFF control of the LNA from a base band chip without power line control by an LDO or other device, increasing system design freedom. These products are ideal for smartphones, digital cameras with GPS, and navigation systems, which have seen rising demand in recent years. The products are housed in the small USP-8A01 package (1.5 x 1.5 x h0.6mm), which helps save space.
