Low noise, higher efficiency with our unique fast transient response control！Step-down "micro DC/DC" converter with integrated 500mA output current coil
Torex Semiconductor Ltd. (Tokyo Japan: President, Koji Shibamiya, 6616: JASDAQ at Tokyo Stock Exchange) has developed. The new XCL221/XCL222 series of step-down "micro DC/DC" converters with integrated coil and control IC. These converters support an ambient operating temperature of 105°C (previous products supported 85°C), and are ideal for applications such as wireless devices, wearable devices that require high efficiency, and GPS watches.
The XCL221/XCL222 series are ultra-small (dimensions: 2.5mm x 2.0mm x h1.0mm) step-down, micro DC/DC converters that incorporate a coil and control IC. Maintaining the space-saving capability of the previous XCL201/XCL202 series, this product achieves even higher efficiency.
Because a power circuit can be configured by simply adding two ceramic capacitors to the external components, this series contributes to space-saving on the board and shortening of development time.The integrated coil simplifies the board layout, and unwanted radiation noise and circuit operating trouble can be minimized.
The operating voltage range is 2.5V to 5.5V, and the output voltage is selectable in the range 0.8 to 3.6V (accuracy ±2.0%) in steps of 0.05V. A low switching frequency of 1.2 MHz realizes low noise. PWM control (XCL221) or PWM/PFM auto switching control (XCL222) can be selected for the control method.
The XCL221/XCL222 series uses HiSAT-COT(*), which is ideal for wireless and wearable devices that require a fast transient response and portable devices and GPS watches that incorporate a CPU.
With the addition of this product to our lineup, even more selections are available to match the application. Torex will continue to expand the XCL series of "micro DC/DC" converters to meet market needs.
