XC6705/XC6706 Series of 20V Input, Low-power, 1.2μA High-speed Regulator ICs Equipped with Seamless GO Function and Supporting 105℃

Torex Semiconductor Ltd. (Tokyo Japan: President, Koji Shibamiya, 6616: Prime Market at Tokyo Stock Exchange) has developed the new products XC6705/XC6706 series of regulator ICs compatible with 20V input, and with low power consumption and high-speed response at an operating temperature range up to 105°C. (Figure 1)

The GO (Green Operation) function of the XC6705 series allows it to combine a low quiescent current of 1.2μA with 50dB high ripple rejection. Also, its advanced form “Seamless GO,” which can provide continuous coverage over a range from low-power operation to high-speed response, can interlock with changes in load current to approach a sufficient PSRR and transient response together with low power. (Figure 2)

Since Seamless GO has characteristics for low power and high speed, it can support reductions in standby power required by devices such as industrial equipment and various IoT sensors, as well as high-speed response during sensing and communication. With an input voltage range from 3.5V to 20.0V, it can accommodate power supplies from sources such as DC12V/15V lines and 2-cell lithium batteries to microcontroller or communication modules. Furthermore, since its operating temperature range extends to +105℃, it is ideal for industrial devices operating in high-temperature conditions.

The XC6705 series includes internal ON/OFF functions which use CE pins, and its packages utilize either the SOT-25 (2.8 x 2.9 x h1.3mm) which is widely used for industrial applications, or the small-sized USP-4 (1.2 x 1.6 x h0.6mm), so it can offer efficient mountability as well as compactness. The XC6706 series is provided with a general SOT-89 (4.5 x 4.0 x h1.6mm) package as a 3-pin regulator.
