About Torex Charger ICs
Torex charger ICs are ICs for linear chargers, which use constant-voltage (CV) and constant-current (CC) charging methods for 1-cell Li-ion batteries and Li-polymer batteries.
Their charging cycles are carried out in the sequence of a trickle charging mode followed by a main charging mode.
These ICs are compatible with temperature control based on JEITA standards, to properly perform control of CV charge voltage and CC charge current according to battery pack temperature, and to allow safe charging of Liion and Li-polymer batteries.
Connecting an LED to the charging status output pin will allow the charging status to be confirmed according to the illumination of the LED.
This lineup also includes products that can be set with a charging current of 5mA, which is ideal for small, lowcapacity lithium batteries in equipment such as wearable devices.

The battery temperature monitoring function monitors the temperature of an Li-ion battery during charging by use of an NTC thermistor connected to a THIN pin. This allows safe charging by controlling the charge completion voltage and charge current according to the Li-ion battery temperature as shown in the upper diagram.
Current Path Function (Applicable IC: XC6806)
Power can be supplied to the system from the OUT pin while an Li-ion battery is charged at the same time from the BAT pin.
An internal input current limiting function sets a limit so that current can be supplied while preventing the input (VIN) from reaching an over-current condition.
